Did any of these verses jump out at you? For me, I know that when I go to the Lord with a decision, if it is not right then I feel doubt and confusion; and I know that this is the still, small voice speaking to me {see section 9:8-9}.
I'll end with this quote from Neal A. Maxwell, "My humble praise flows not only to God the Father for his loving plan of salvation and to Jesus, the Lord of the universe, for His marvelous and remarkable Atonement, but also to the Holy Ghost, about whom we speak less. Among His many roles I express my particular and personal gratitude for the recent ways in which He has been the precious Comforter, including in the mid-night moments!" Loved the scripture chain, thanks for making it so easy to study.
I think the thing that stood out the most to me is that our spirit, or mind, is the "divine" part of us that already KNOWS all things. The spirit of revelation is just that, revealing something that we already know.
Our heart satisfies the law of witnesses, both parts- heart and mind must be harmony to testify and satisfy that law.
This is totally in line with the job of the Holy Ghost itself. The job of the Church is to only teach faith, repentance, baptism and the gift of the Holy Ghost. Once a person has received this gift the Holy Ghost is responsible to teach everything else. We can KNOW all things through the power of the Holy Ghost as He reveals truth to us!

In the Doghouse -- thank you for an excellent comment -- it put into words some things I was feeling about these scriptures.
In church yesterday, the question was asked, "Why do we have to study things out in our minds first before we go to God for direction?" I feel like it's for a few reasons -- 1. I find it easier to receive impressions from the Spirit -- impressions toward a yes or a no -- rather than a detailed course of action. 2. (Someone else in class pointed this out and I liked it) It's the PROCESS that is important. Often as we study and ponder, we receive the answer we were seeking. Sometimes it's just the opportunity to reason, ponder, and learn about receiving revelation that is important, rather than the actual answer.
Receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost and acting upon the promptings that I will recognize is one of my biggest struggles as a disciple of Christ. I just tend to not make time for it. This lesson reminded me of the importance of that unique gift.
