This week we can learn a lot about personal revelation. Today lets consider the question "Why is personal revelation vitally important in our day?" One of the reasons that I appreciate personal revelation so much in my life is to help me raise my children in righteousness. My children are also His children and when there is something important that I need to know about them, the spirit has always let me know. One of my favorite verses was verse 20. "Be faithful and diligent in keeping the commandments of God, and I will encircle thee in the arms of my love." Many of us may have felt these arms before and it is something you never forget.
If you have any favorite verses or insights to D&C 6, please comment.

I think personal revelation is important because every person has different challenges. One person may need confirmation of the law of tithing, another may need confirmation on the word of wisdom, some may have health problems. In Heavenly Father's infinite wisdom, he has provided us a way to personally know him.
The verse that struck me the most in this chapter was verse 31. "If they reject not my words...ye shall have joy in the fruits of your labors." How great must be the joy of the prophet Joseph Smith, for there are we all have joined the church because of the work that he did.
You are right about feeling the arms of the Lord being an unforgetable experience. And, when we have had it, we need to think back on it when life seems dark.
I loved this section, but Stanton had the computer last night while I was studying, so I'll have to add in my notes later!
